Jennie F. Griswold, a Republican, was elected as County Superintendent of Schools for Pacific County, Washington in 1882. She won against the incumbent, Layfeate Ellen Bush. Griswold ran for re-election in 1884, but lost to the Democratic candidate, Ada B. Hicklin.
