Mabel Ellery Adams was the second woman elected to the School Board of Quincy, Massachusetts. She served on the board from 1896 to 1904. Adams, a Quincy native, was an early graduate of Radcliffe College in Boston. She was a teacher at the Horace Mann School for the Deaf and later the school's assistant principal. Adams was a charter member of the Massachusetts College Equal Suffrage League, the first college suffrage organization in the country.
