In 1918 Carrie M. Deitrich, a teacher, was elected as the Rio Grande (Colorado) County Superintendent of Schools. She was single and had taught public school for a number of years. She was born in Colorado in c. 1891 and boarded with a local family in Monta Vista, Colorado.
