Coffin, Millie J.

Millie J. Coffin, the Republican candidate, was elected County Superintendent of Schools for Beaverhead County, Montana in 1892. Two years later Coffin was defeated by Kate Poindexter, the Democrat and Populist candidate. Poindexter resigned the following year and Coffin was appointed to fill the rest of the term. In 1896 Coffin ran for a third time, again as the Republican and Silver Republicand candidate but lost the race.
