White, Lucy Goode
In 1912 Socialist party candidate Lucy Goode White ran unsuccessfully in a field of eight candidates (for four positions) for San Francisco County Superior Court judge. She received 12,584 votes. Attorney F. W. Sawyer attempted to have his name substituted for hers on the ballot but Judge J. M. Seawell sustained a demurrer to his petition, allowing her to run.
