Sarah Victor was a Socialist Party candidate for a six-year term to the Detroit, Michigan School Board in 1917. The following year she ran for the office of Michigan State Treasurer, also as a Socialist Party candidate. Victor continued to run for office: Michigan Secretary of State in 1926; Presidential Elector in 1928; and State Auditor General in 1930. For the last three races Victor ran under the Workers party. Victor was born in Russia, emigrated to the U.S. in 1905, and was a naturalized American citizen.
