In 1919, Lucretia McPherson was elected, by a large majority, to the Columbus, Ohio (Franklin County) Board of Education. McPherson was an ardent suffrage supporter. She was president of the Columbus Good Government League, an offshoot of the Franklin County Suffrage Association. After 1920 McPherson was active with the League of Women Voters.
