Etta J. Rider served as the elected County Superintendent of Schools for Ringgold County, Iowa from 1909 to 1916. Rider was principal of the Girls (Cherokee) Boarding School , Talequah, Indian Territory from 1901 to 1904. She taught high school in Albia, Iowa before being elected county superintendent.
