Anna Piercey was elected to the Utah Assembly in 1918 as a Democrat, and was still in the Assembly in 1929, although it is unclear if she was in office for this entire time. She was an active suffragist. Piercey was involved in women's clubs in Salt Lake City, where she lived for most of her life. While in office, she wrote a law mandating an eight hour work day, and she attempted to change the minimum wage law for women. She also tried to establish a state school for the "feebleminded," but it is unclear whether she succeeded. Piercey was a Mormon.
