Bessie Moodie was elected as the County Superintendent of Schools for Crook County, Wyoming in 1898. She was elected to a second term two years later. Her county had 14 districts, 53 schools, and 856 students. While in office, she oversaw the regularization of textbooks and curricula as the free textbook law was implemented. In 1905, Moodie served as the Enrolling and Engrossing Clerk for the Wyoming Legislature.
