Marion E. Sproule
Marion E. Sproule of Lowell, was the Socialist Party candidate for Secretary of State, for Massachusetts in 1916 and again in 1918. Sproule did not win either race. Sproule was the Massachusetts State Secretary for the local Communist Party and was arrested for making false claims about the U.S. government in 1919. She may have used the pseudonym Alice Smith.
