In 1911 Mabel L. Derr was a candidate for School Visitor for the fifteenth ward of Philadelphia. Derr was nominated by the Republican, Democrat, and Keystone parties. Derr was president of the Housekeepers League, an organization concerned by food prices and safety. She was also active in suffrage events in the city.
