Woodruff, Clara F.
In 1904 Clara F. Woodruff was a Republican candidate for School Director of the fifteenth ward School Committee in Philadelphia. It is unclear if she won this race, but Woodruff won her race two years later. She was president of the ward school committee by 1918. Woodruff was a long-time member of the city's Civic Club, an organzation active in getting women nominated for school committees. Woodruff was active in other philanthropic organizations as well. She died in 1918 from meningitis.
