Cadbury, Sarah
In 1898 Sarah Cadbury was a Probition party and Independent candidate for School Director of the tenth ward school committee in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Two years later she was nominated for the office by the Municipal League. Cadbury was an officer of several women's reform organizations. After the Civil War, Cadbury was one of thirty Quaker teachers sent to Yorktown, Virginia to open schools for formerly enslaved people.
