Dora Keen
In 1897 Dora Keen, a Republican, was elected as a School Director of the ninth ward School committee in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was nominated by the Republicans and the Municipal League in 1900. Keen won a seat again in 1906. Earlier she graduated from Bryn Mawr College and then worked for several reform agencies in the city. Keen later traveled the world, and in the first decade of the twentieth century became an Alpinist, climbing first-class peaks in Europe.
