Kate S. Thompson
Kate S. Thompson was elected to the Board of Education for Jamestown, New York in 1889. She received twice as many votes as her male rivals. Thompson was the secretary of the Jamestown Political Equality Club, founded in 1887.  The club supported the successful election of  both Thompson and Martha Griswold. Griswold was also an active member of state suffrage organizations.
