Frances E. Bennett
Frances E. Bennett was nominated by the Democrats and Independents for the office of School Director for Philadelphia's ninth ward school committee in 1883. Bennett was a scholar and teacher at the Chestnut Street Seminary for girls, later known as the Ogontz School. In 1883 Bennett became a co-director of the school. She was a founder of the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences.
