Marie L. Campeau was elected as County Superintendent of Schools for Douglas County, Wisconsin in 1917. She had been a school teacher before her election. By 1920 Campeau was a police woman for the city of Superior, Wisconsin.
Mae Hardie was first elected as the County Superintendent of Schools for Jackson County, Wisconsin in 1917. She was an educator in the area for over 50 years. Hardie retired as County Superintendents went into the 1950s.
