Cora L. Warren was appointed as Coroner and Public Administrator of San Joaquin County, California in July of 1918. She filled the remaining months of her husband's term in the office when he joined the military during World War I. Warren ran for the office that fall under her own name, but lost the race. Cora Warren had been involved in the family undertaking business and believed her experience would help in her campaign.
