Lucia N. Oliviere was a Socialist party candidate for County Clerk of Schenectedy County, New York in 1918. The following year she ran on the Socialist party ticket for Ward Supervisor, and for other offices, including State Senator in 1922 and 1924. Oliviere was an active member of the Schenectedy branch of the state woman suffrage party. Oliviere wrote for local newspapers on issues of women's rights, including suffrage, encouraging women to support female candidates for office, advocating anti-militarism, socialism, labor rights, education, birth control, the abolition of child labor and capital punishment. She also published poetry and fiction.
