From collection Candidates
Celia B. Whitehead was a Socialist candidate from Denver who campaigned for the State Senate in Colorado in 1904. She did not win a seat in state senate. Whitehead had long supported reformers even before moving to Colorado, and joined women's political clubs in Denver. Whitehead often wrote letters or short articles on reform topics of the day, including divorce, support for playgrounds, and in favor of unions for minors, which were printed in newspapers.
