Kate Hogan
Kate Hogan was a Democratic candidate from Denver and Arapahoe County for the State House of Representatives in Colorado in 1906. There was some move to withdraw her name from the ballot, but in late October a court ordered that it remain. Hogan did win the race. In spring of 1906 Hogan ran for a City Supervisor position in Denver. She claimed not to seek nomination from any party, but to stand for decency in city government and the impartial enforcement of the law. Hogan had been active with the Democratic party in Denver from at least 1900 onward. She served as a precinct committeewoman in several races and testified about vote counts in fraud investigation in early 1906. Hogan worked as Denver city health or sanitary inspector.
