Ella M. Farthing, a Democrat, was elected as the County Superintendent of Schools for Fremont County, Wyoming in 1912. She won the race against her Republican rival. Farthing was again the Democratic candidate for the office in 1914. She lost to the Republican candidate, Verna E. Wells. Farthing died in December of 1916.
