Lillian Caldwell was a candidate for City Clerk in Vancouver, Washington in 1912. At least one newspaper reportered that she had a good chance to beat the incumbent in the race.  She was the first woman in Vancouver to serve as a judge of elections. Caldwell received attention as she was disabled and campaigned from her wheelchair.
