Tina Johnston

Tina Johnston was the Democratic candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for Walla Walla County, Washington in 1882. Although she received about forty-four percent of the votes, she lost to her Republican opponent. After Johnston failed to win her race, she went on to publish and edit two Catholic publications. In 1892 Johnston received a teaching certificate for the local schools and later became a public school principal. She also joined the Seattle Women's Commercial Club.
