Bean, Anna

Anna Bean was the Democratic and Peoples party candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for King County, Washington in 1880. She lost to the Republican candidate. Bean was ambiguous about seeking the office. One source reported that she wrote a letter to a newspaper denying that she sought the election.  However, Bean did not withdraw from the race and received about forty-eight percent of the votes.
