Adelaide Staves was the Democratic candidate for County Superintendent of Schools in Beaverhead County, Montana in 1892. She lost to her Republican opponent, Millie J. Coffin. Staves was active with the Montana Woman Suffrage Association and testified before the state legislature in favor of the franchise.
