Jeannette Schaffer was elected as a Justice of the Peace in Washington County, Colorado in 1910. Two years later she was a Democratic candidate in the primary election for County Superintendent of Schools. She did not win that race. Before her election as a Justice of the Peace Schaffer was a newspaper reporter.
