Katherine C. Polly was the Republican, Teller Silver Republican, and Silver Republican candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for Teller County, Colorado in 1899. She lost to the Democratic candidate. Polly was a physician and school teacher in the county. In 1904 she was the Republican candidate for the same office and won the race. Polly did not gain re-election in 1906, where she was once again the Republican candidate. As a physician Polly was in practice with her husband Dr. John B. Polly. With other physicians Katherine planned to open a women's clinic in Denver in 1904.
