Bertha Treffeisen was the Democratic candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for Jefferson County, Colorado in 1910. She faced two opponents and lost to the Republican incumbent, Elizabeth Hemberger. In 1912 Treffeisen considered another run for the office. Treffeisen was a local school teacher as well as a musician and public speaker.
