Lucretia M. Allen was elected as County Superintendent of Schools for El Paso County, Colorado in 1897. She served for one term. Allen ran again in 1899, but was defeated. Allen was educated at the State Normal School in Bloomington, Illinois, and then had several teaching jobs.
