Fannie E. Lemert was a candidate for Police Judge for the town of Cimarron, Kansas in 1901. She was part of a "women's ticket" with four other candidates for city offices, which some reports considered had a good chance of success. Many of the women candidates also worked together in the local women's club.  Lemert was active with the local Woman's Christian Temperance Union and supported suffrage
