Glessner Moore Brady was elected as the first woman Circuit Court Clerk in Missouri in 1900. Brady had served as a deputy clerk for husband Henry when he was elected to the position in Vernon County, and for several years before his death in 1899. She was appointed to complete Henry's second term. In 1900 she ran for the office of Clerk herself and was supported by eighteen out of twenty townships in the county. Later Brady re-married and was known as Glessner Brady-Few.
