Topaz, Dr. Anna
Anna Topaz was a Socialist party candidate for the Boston School Committee in 1903. She was one of the first Jewish women to qualify as a physician at Tufts University. Born in Russia in 1876, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1897. Topaz later moved to, and practiced in Rhode Island. She became the chairman of immigrant aid for the National Council of Jewish Women.
