Lulu B. Hawkins was the Republican Candidate for City Treasurer in Paonia, Delta County, Colorado in 1907. Before her winning her race, Hawkins worked as a stenographer in a real estate office. Hawkins won over 50 percent of the vote against her opponent Winifred Hammond, the Citizens Party candidate.
