Lucretia M.B. Mitchell

Lucretia M.B. Mitchell, the Republican party candidate, also endorsed by the Democrats and the Tax Payer and Citizens Association, was elected to the School Committee of the Twenty-fourth ward in Philadelphia in 1883. Mitchell was the head of a school for girls in Philadelphia. In the early years of the twentieth century Mitchell served on the executive committee of the Women's Medical College in the city.
