Lucia Voorhees Grimes
Lucia Voorhees Grimes was a prominent suffragist in Detroit, Michigan who ran for a seat of the city School Board in 1917. In 1919 Grimes ran a six-year term as a Detroit School Inspector. Near her 97th birthday she made a speech in favor of the Equal Rights Amendment. Grimes was inducted into the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame in 1995.
