Lillian E. Kiefer ran as the Democratic candidate from the 13th District for the New York State Assembly in 1918. The New York Tribune reported that, she had received endorsements from the Colonial Democratic Club of her district. Prior to politics, Kiefer worked as a musician and a teacher in the Long Island City public schools.
