Sophia E. Follansbee was elected Town Clerk for Brookfield, Orange County, Vermont in 1909. The year before Follansbee had been appointed to the office after the incumbant resigned. In the 1890s she was a member of the national Grange. In 1920 Follansbee was one of several women in the town to take the Freeman's Oath.
