Cynthia A. Green was elected County Commissioner of Schools in Eaton County, Michigan in 1907. She was re-elected to the position in 1911, 1915, and 1919. Before her election in 1907 Green had been a chemistry teacher, and then principal in Charlotte (Eaton County), schools. After moving out west in the 1920s, Green returned to Eaton County and served once again as the County Commissioner from 1936 to 1939. Green also served as the vice president of the Jordan and Steele Manufacturing Company and as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Standard Stamping Company. She was interested in questions concerning women's voting rights in the state.
