Ina Craven was elected County Superintendent of Schools for Cascade County, Montana in 1896. She was elected for a second term two years later. Craven remained in educational positions for the rest of her working life. Craven often lived with other teachers and by 1920 was living with one other woman listed as partner in the federal census.
