Lillian B. Symes was a Socialist Party candidate for the California State Assembly, from the thirtieth district in the primary election of1916. She received only 106 votes. Symes was a significant member of the Party in California throughout the 1920s and 1930s. In 1938 she ran on the Socialist ticket for the U.S. Senate from California.
