Jennie Arnott of Santa Clara was a Socialist Party candidate for California State Assembly in 1912.  Arnott was one of the first women to run state-wide office in the first race after California women gained full suffrage and electoral rights. She was an outspoken suffragist, club woman, and children's rights activist.
