From collection Candidates

Hecht, Mrs. C.
Mrs. C. Hecht was one of the Socialist Party candidates for San Francisco School Board in 1896.  She was one four women candidates that year, all Socialist Party nominees, but none of them won seats.  Mrs. Hecht probably ran in the previous election as well, and had polled more than half of the Socialist vote.  She was noted as an "enthusiastic Socialist".
