Anna L. Williams was elected County Superintendent of Schools for Modoc County, California in 1895. She served for a second term 1899-1903. Williams was the second woman in the county elected to the office. In 1906 Williams was the Democratic candidate for the office of State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
