Salina M. Woodman was a candidate for County Superintendent of Schools in Butte County, California in 1875. This was the first year women were eligible for election to school offices. Woodman was a teacher, and she and her husband opened a private school in Chico, Butte County in the 1860s. Salina M. Woodman was a leading member of the local Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
