Alma M. Brockway, a Democrat, was elected Ouray County (Colorado) Superintendent of Schools in 1914 and 1916. In 1916. she defeated the Republican candidate, Flora C. Braddock. After leaving office Brockway married on Valentine's Day, 1921, to Erwin F. Burnett.
