Alma M. Brockway, a Democrat, was elected as County Superintendent of Schools for Ouray County, Colorado. in 1914 and 1916. In 1916. she defeated the Republican candidate, Flora C. Braddock. After leaving office Brockway married on Valentine's Day, 1921, to Erwin F. Burnett.
