In 1916 Ada Sundquist, a Republican, campaigned for the office of Alamosa County, Colorado Superintendent of Schools. She won and served the 1917-1918 term of office. Her opponent was Mrs. Ruth D. Fish, a Democrat. Sundquist was born in Colorado and lived in the town of Alamosa.
