Amelia L. Halsey was elected as County School Superintendent for Stark County, Illinois. Halsey served in the office from 1877-1882. She had been teacher in Stark County since 1858. In 1882 Halsey ran for the County School Superintendent position as an Independent, but didn't win the race.
